Update

VerifiedLink was introduced as a public-interest initiative exploring hyperlink transparency and hyperlink truth verification. Active rollout of the extension has been paused while development priorities are redirected to other initiatives.

We appreciate the interest and support shown for this project.

Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 March, 2026

1. Introduction

VerifiedLink is a browser extension designed to help users detect potentially deceptive hyperlinks where the visible link text does not match the actual destination domain.

By installing or using VerifiedLink or accessing VerifiedLink.app, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the extension or website.

2. Description of the Service

VerifiedLink analyzes hyperlinks displayed on webpages and compares the visible text of a link with its underlying destination.

If the displayed domain appears to differ from the actual destination domain, the extension may highlight the link or display a warning before navigation.

VerifiedLink is intended as an informational security tool. It does not guarantee that all deceptive links will be detected or prevented.

3. No Guarantee of Protection

While VerifiedLink is designed to improve awareness of deceptive hyperlinks, it cannot guarantee protection from phishing, fraud, malware, or other security threats.

Users remain responsible for exercising caution when navigating websites or interacting with online content.

VerifiedLink should be considered a supplemental safety tool rather than a complete security solution.

4. Data Collection and Privacy

The current public version of VerifiedLink operates locally within the user's browser.

The extension does not collect personal data, browsing history, or user identities.

All hyperlink analysis occurs locally on the user's device.

For more information, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

6. Future Features and Changes

VerifiedLink may evolve over time to include additional capabilities, including enterprise features, policy frameworks, or rule-based hyperlink verification systems.

These Terms of Service may be updated as the service evolves.

Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

VerifiedLink is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.

The developer makes no guarantees regarding accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed.
